What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Biller position at Lawrence General Hospital Health System?
As the#Physician Biller, you will be asked to ensure self-pay accounts are billed in a timely and accurate fashion. Performs daily review of self-pay patients using system generated face sheets, reports and computer-assisted eligibility applications. Interact with hospital staff, physicians, outside agencies, patients and their family members to ensure effective guest relations. Duties and Responsibilities: Experience with medical terminology, electronic claim submission, accounts#receivable follow-up and writing appeals is a must. An ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, and possess exceptional attention to detail. Review all face sheets for data accuracy and completion. When necessary, check for insurance information using computer/electronic eligibility applications. Make corrections, if necessary, on facesheets and on the computer system. Call patients as needed, to verify insurance information and update the system. Assist patients with setting up budget arrangements. Performs duties as assigned Required: Physician Medical Practice billing experience required. Strong computer (eClinicalWorks and Meditech) experience Customer-service orientation High School diploma required. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
