The Spirit of the Position:
The Business Development supports Director of Business Development with complete oversight of development proposals. Submission requirements and collaborating with leaders.
Principal Job Duties:
- Reports to the Director of Business Development
- Thoroughly reads and understands the RFP submission requirements, sales strategy and response deadlines and is hands on in the development of proposal management plans and content deliverables
- Prepare and lead efficient Proposal Kick-off meetings and follow-up meetings with the appropriate department heads and subject matter experts to review status of deliverables and sales strategy, ensuring activities adhere to the proposal development plan
- Be well informed on the various proposal submission tools such as: ARIBA, Site Stuff, Procore, etc.
- Collaborate with the leadership to develop and execute innovative responses to proposals and proposal presentations
- Maintain, contribute, and organize content database
- Develop and maintain personal network with subject matter experts, across the company, to stay abreast of all current information related to company offerings, strategy, and initiatives for the future
- Possess editing skills, excellent knowledge of grammar and punctuation
- Orchestrate development of responses across the spectrum by gathering proposal information from various sources of information and content contributors. Collect the data, verify brand, and voice consistency
- Coordinate with Director of Marketing to ensure brand messaging and identity remain consistent to corporate directives and strategy.
- Ensure the high-quality content and appearance of final proposal deliverables
- Complete special projects, as assigned by the Director of Business Development
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience with media or content creation a plus
- Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, with focus on PowerPoint and Word
- Microsoft Office Certification a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding skills in organization, prioritization, and time management
Physical Demands:
- Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
- Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
- Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
