Painter - Aerospace Industry

Leading Edge Composites, www.Lec-Composites.com located in the Highlands Corporate Park in Coatesville, is a full service, fully integrated design, engineering and manufacturing firm specializing in Aviation, Aerospace and Defense.

As a result of our growth, we are looking for hard working individuals to join our team. We currently have available a Painter opening in our composite manufacturing shop. Our Painter will sand, mask, fill and paint composite and metal parts. No manufacturing experience is necessary, training provided however experience a plus.

How you will spend your time as our Painter:

• Learn and apply paint work techniques, safety standards, shop maintenance and environmental compliance
• Prepares surfaces to be painted by cleaning, masking and sanding
• Apply body filler on composite and metal parts to fix any imperfections prior to painting
• Mix and apply primers/paints according to specification as required
• Use and understand paint mix ratios percentages and fractions
• Paint surfaces of composite parts using spray painting equipment and work aids utilizing specific surface preparation and painting techniques
• Operate HVLP spray gun or other spray equipment, spray booth, oven and ventilation system per specific instructions
• Report to management quality concerns
• Perform other duties as required

You will be successful if you have the following:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years’ experience as a parts painter
• Ability to make painting equipment adjustments as needed, and interpret complicated instructions and use measuring devices
• Ability to perform basic math calculations
• Attention to detail is strongly required for this position
• Must be able to work independently
• Ability to stand for long periods of time

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
