Social Workers – Joan Fenichel Therapeutic Nursery (JFTN)

The League Education and Treatment Center in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a mental health specialist with an interest and experience in working with children attending a therapeutic preschool/day treatment program in the role of “Treatment Coordinator.”

Joan Fenichel Therapeutic Nursery (JFTN) serves children 3-5 years of age who have emotional/behavioral difficulties as well as developmental disabilities. A demonstrated interest in working with children who present with autism spectrum/developmental disabilities is necessary. Experience with a trauma-informed approach to classroom management and behavior modification is also necessary to consult with and support teaching staff.

Responsibilities:

• Providing individual and group therapy as well as providing social skills training, family therapy, case management, and parent training.
• Developing treatment plans as well as conducting psychosocial evaluations and writing updates
• Working with our behavior support team which performs functional analyses
• Developing behavior intervention plans, consulting with classroom staff and assisting with physical management of the children
• Experience with behavior modification and applied behavior analysis
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrist, psychologists, social workers, creative arts therapists, speech/language pathologists, occupational/physical therapists and teachers.
• Physical intervention such as playing, holding, and lifting children.
• Licensed professionals will have an opportunity to supervise externs and interns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, or any related behavioral health or human service fields.
• License preferred (LCSW, LMSW) or Limited Permit Eligible.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
