What are the responsibilities and job description for the MDS Nurse Coordinator position at Leakesville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center?
Looking for an RN or LPN for the position of MDS assessment coordinator. The MDS nurse collects and assesses information for the health and well-being of residents in Medicare- or Medicaid-certified nursing homes. Following federally-mandated procedures and using the MDS process, the nurse monitors residents' health and well-being from the time of admission through the end of their stay.
This work also requires the planning, documentation and submission of the compiled information. It calls for creative problem solving and attentive communication with staff, residents and their families, to ensure that personal, health and administrative concerns are being addressed.
- Communicate with doctors, other nurses, and other hospital staff to share information on patient's health status and care.
- Be compassionate toward patients, visitors, families, and co-workers.
- Treat patients of all backgrounds with respect.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Adhere to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and other governmental regulations.
- Conform to the standards of a nursing.
- Demonstrate proper infection control measures.
- Work as part of a team.
