MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
MONTGOMERY, AL - PLANT
2nd & 3rd Shift Available
The maintenance supervisor is responsible for organizing, planning and directing work assignments of maintenance workers.
Instructs and coordinates the activities of all personnel in the department to maintain top efficiency and productivity. Manages and maintains expense supplies as may be reasonably necessary to ensure adequate amount to minimize production downtime. Administers company policies and procedures as related to department. Administer safety, company rules and collective bargaining agreement. Assist in launch programs as necessary. The Maintenance Supervisor is part of the Maintenance department and reports to the Engineering Manager.
The Role:
Work will include, but will not be limited to:
- Conducts weekly safety meeting with each maintenance shift
- Contact and coordinate work with outside contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Maintains time records.
- Maintain Work Order logs
- Monitors maintenance contracts for compliance
- Monitors and maintains critical spare parts and other spares
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities.
- Manage and direct plant safety and the implementation of safety equipment as related to equipment when needed.
- Manages the maintenance of accurate records of machines and other assets with regards to repair, drawings, diagrams and manuals and preventive maintenance program.
- Ensures plant security is maintained.
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining adequate parts to minimize machine downtime.
- Follows ISO14001 and QS9000/TS16949 procedures/processes.
- Optimizes design to produce quality products.
- Participates in plant recycling programs.
- It is the responsibility of the Maintenance Supervisor to take appropriate action and to effectively communicate where necessary and observations which may impact Lear's ability to manufacture a quality product and to achieve an on-time delivery. Individual actions which should be taken into account are as follows:
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformances related to product, process and quality systems.
- Identify and record any problems related to the product, process and quality system.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Verify implementation of solutions.
- Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 3-5 years' experience with Maintenance Supervision for conveyor systems, assembly equipment, facilities, and grounds.
- Must be able to work extended periods of time and 2nd shift hours
- Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Applications.
- Knowledge of Predictive Maintenance (Temperature, Vibration and Oil). Knowledge of Production Equipment and Machinery Troubleshooting following schematics and performance Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Knowledge of Electrical Trade (lighting systems, ac/dc electrical circuits, 110/220 vac, 1ph/3ph voltage and some troubleshooting).
- Knowledge of Mechanical (grinding, drilling, plumbing, etc.).
- Knowledge of Tig and Mig Welding and performance light fabrication.
- Knowledge of pneumatic ad hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of Predictive Maintenance (Temperature, Vibration and Oil).
- Knowledge of PLC's, read ladder logic. Troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Instrumentation and Calibration. Troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
- Knowledge of Maintenance Planning, Scheduling and Budget.
- Knowledge of the development and design of Industrial Electrical Control Panel.
- Knowledge of PLC's maintenance, troubleshooting and program modification.
