Responsibilities
The Chaplain Resident, under the direction of the Director Clinical Pastoral Education and other Staff Chaplains, offers spiritual care and support to patients/families in keeping with their belief system, and provides pastoral support for the staff. The Chaplain Resident is responsible for living out the intent of the Resident Letter of Agreement and the ACPE Standards of Training Level I and Level II. This position functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary group.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: Masters of Divinity or equivalent.
Skill Requirements: Self-awareness, interpersonal communication skills, knowledge of medical -ethical issues. Ability to articulate a faith perspective. Ability to understand personal / family history. Evidence of empathy in relation to others. Demonstrates respect for differing lifestyles and cultures. Demonstrates respect and understanding of theological and moral values contrary to one’s own. Has the capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team context, receive supervision, and evaluation by staff/peers.
