About the position:
The Concession Cashier/Bartender is responsible for providing excellent customer service at the front register as well as prepare and serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks. This position will work seasonally at our Ewing concession. Working under the direction of the Kitchen Manager, the Cashier/Bartender ensures that orders are received, food and drinks are prepared to order, meets quality standards, and is served promptly to customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Cashier Duties:
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service in a friendly and professional manner.
- Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and process orders through the point-of-sale system.
- Answer customer questions, provide information about menu items, and address special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier station.
- Manage customer orders efficiently.
- Assist with promoting sales and suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience.
Bartender Duties:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes or customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
- Check customer identification to ensure legal drinking age compliance.
- Restock bar inventory and supplies as needed.
- Ensure that all orders are completed in a timely manner, especially during peak hours or events.
Workstation Organization and Cleanliness:
- Keep stations clean, organized, and stocked with necessary ingredients and equipment.
- Follow proper cleaning and sanitation protocols, including regular cleaning of surfaces and equipment.
- Ensure all ingredients are stored properly according to food and beverage safety standards and regulations.
Inventory and Supply Management:
- Assist in checking inventory levels, rotating stock, and notifying supervisors of any shortages or needed supplies.
- Ensure that ingredients and products are stored correctly to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Help with restocking and replenishing items as needed during shifts.
Food Safety Standards:
- Follow all local, state, and federal food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and preparation of beverages.
- Ensure proper guidelines, including washing hands, wearing gloves, and preventing cross-contamination.
Time Management and Efficiency:
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure that orders are prepared quickly and accurately.
- Work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, especially during peak service times.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- Prior experience in a similar role preferred.
- Experience in working register, cash handling and bar service is required.
Skills:
- Knowledge of food and beverage safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when following recipes and drinks preparation guidelines.
- Ability to work well with others and take direction from management.
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with staff.
Certifications:
- TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol Certification or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to perform tasks.
- Must be able to work in close quarters and handle high-stress situations during peak service times.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
