## Overview
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide one-on-one parent education with caregivers and their children, ages 0-5. This position provides child development education, resources, support and collaborates with families to brainstorm solutions to parenting concerns. This person also coordinates parent-child enrichment activities, playgroups & other group classes. As a contract employee, this position is expected to schedule a minimum of 20 hours per week, maximum 32 hours per week and invoice the agency accordingly
## - Duties
- Provide developmentally appropriate & evidence based information, guidance and support to caregivers.
- Model positive adult-child interactions & age appropriate expectations in a playroom setting.
- Select and use various instructional methods appropriate for individual families.
- Demonstrate compassion towards families at all times but especially during times of stress or crisis.
- Plan & coordinate parent-child enrichment activities, playgroups & other group classes.
- Be trained in and utilize Ages & Stages Questionnaire for developmental screenings & make referrals and recommendations if delays are noted.
- Assist parents in accessing community services/resources which relate to the family’s overall well being.
- Work collaboratively with caregivers to brainstorm solutions to parenting/family concerns.
- Responsible for submitting timely invoices and program data each month
- Maintain competency-based professional development. Willing to be trained in Parents as Teachers curriculum, if not already certified.
## Education/Experience
- Bachelor or four-year degree in child development, early childhood education or a related field.
- An Associates degree in child development or a related field with 4 or more years of experience working with young children and families is also acceptable.
