GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Benefits and Payroll administrator assists in all things related to payroll and benefits for the team, including timecard management, addition and removal of benefits, and accurate deductions for benefits processed in payroll. The Administrator helps in the compliance of state and federal regulations relating to payroll and benefits and ensures that all work benefits and employee documents are accurate and secure. This position requires bookkeeping knowledge, a bachelor's degree, excellent organizational skills and experience in using spreadsheets and HRIS software.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll Administration
- Assist the Director of Payroll with payroll for all company departments and restaurant locations which includes review of time entries, tips earned, and PTO.
- Assist with Importing/reviewing/editing bi-weekly payroll in Paycom software and reconcile final payroll before distribution.
- Enforce IRS and DOL compliance while processing payroll.
- Research questionable timecards.
- Assist with uploading documents and forms into the HRIS software ensuring secure data transfer.
- Assist with completion of verification of employment forms/requests.
- Review and ensure proper maintenance of completed tip pool documents for all locations.
- Delivers personal issues and concerns, including those of employees that are unresolvable to the company's proper channels.
Benefit Administration
- Assist the Director of Compensation & Benefits with the administration of employee benefits programs including group medical, dental, vision, group life, AD&D, STD, LTD, HSA, and FSA.
- Process benefit elections, pay adjustments, salary changes, and other employee life cycle changes in Paycom HRIS as well as garnishments, and cobra.
- Provide required leave of absence paperwork and manage leave files for duration of leave and through the return-to-work process.
- Assist as directed with processing 401K transfers to TPA, verify FSA deductions.
- Audit reconciliation of Paycom system vs various carriers.
- Follow-up and coordinate arrearage payments.
- Respond to benefit inquiries from employees in a timely and supportive fashion.
- Champion the Wellness program for all three PPX hospitality brands making recommendations to senior HR and Director of Compensation & Benefits.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Technical literacy with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, (Compeat) and POS systems (Micros).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations and keep sensitive information secure.
- Proficient with HRIS and other related software/hardware systems.
- Must have good organizational skills, strong analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Responds promptly to employee needs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & TRAINING:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, Human Resources, or related field.
- Payroll and Benefits: 3 years.
- Paycom: 2 years (Preferred).
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work will be performed primarily in the Quality Control Center, and on occasion, in restaurant operations to support a restaurant opening if needed.
- Light travel which may include overnight may be required.
Salary : $25 - $35
