Duct Cleaning Service Tech

Job Summary

The Duct Cleaner is responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and sanitizing of residential and commercial air ducts and ventilation systems. The role involves visiting customer locations, assessing air duct conditions, and performing thorough cleaning and sanitizing tasks to improve indoor air quality and HVAC system efficiency. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to ensuring the health and comfort of customers through high-quality duct cleaning services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Duct Cleaning Services

   • Perform duct cleaning and sanitizing services for both residential and commercial customers.
   • Use professional duct cleaning tools and equipment, such as vacuums, air whips, and agitators, to remove dust, debris, and contaminants from air ducts and HVAC systems.
   • Seal and sanitize ducts as required, following company protocols and safety standards.

2. System Inspection and Assessment

   • Inspect ductwork, HVAC systems, and filters before beginning service to identify the level of contamination and potential issues.
   • Communicate findings to customers and recommend appropriate cleaning services or further maintenance.

3. Customer Interaction

   • Provide a friendly and professional experience for customers, answering questions about duct cleaning processes, potential health benefits, and maintenance practices.
   • Educate customers on the importance of regular duct cleaning and any additional HVAC maintenance needs identified during inspections.

4. Equipment and Tool Maintenance

   • Ensure that all duct cleaning equipment and tools are maintained, cleaned, and in good working condition.
   • Report any issues or repairs needed for equipment to the supervisor promptly.

5. Documentation and Reporting

   • Complete job reports, including service details, duct conditions, and any additional work performed or recommended.
   • Document customer interactions and service outcomes in the company’s system for future reference.

6. Safety Compliance

   • Follow all safety procedures, wear personal protective equipment, and ensure that work areas are safe for both the technician and customer.
   • Stay updated on industry safety standards and company policies for handling duct cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents.

7. Team Collaboration

   • Work with other HVAC technicians and team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
   • Assist in cross-departmental activities when needed, particularly during peak service periods.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in HVAC or duct cleaning is a plus.
• Experience: Previous experience in duct cleaning, HVAC maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
• Skills:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with HVAC systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces, dusty areas, and temperature-controlled environments.
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Requires manual dexterity, physical flexibility, and the ability to stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
