General description

The Analyst is responsible for the accurate analysis and classification of assigned websites, products, and/or merchants. They use open-source intelligence, proprietary tools, and industry best practices to identify potential areas of risk or non-compliance. By identifying potentially risky, illegal, or otherwise violative activities, the Analyst contributes directly to LegitScript’s mission of making the internet and payment ecosystems safer and more transparent. They work in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable balancing competing priorities and delivering their work within deadlines.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze, assess, and/or classify certification applicants by using open-source intelligence, proprietary tools, and industry best practices, and leveraging contextual data
  • Make quick, accurate analytical decisions based on information that is, at times, ambiguous
  • Understand and utilize the various tools and resources available to you when necessary
  • Submit reports, adhering to your program’s reporting standards, within strict deadlines
  • Escalate questions to appropriate colleagues using sound judgment
  • Communicate with client(s), in coordination with Manager, via email, phone, or video conference as needed
  • Conduct online background investigations of applicants, review their website content for problematic products and policies, and conduct compliance reviews to determine applicants’ eligibility for LegitScript certification
  • Monitor billing and payment status, escalating internally when appropriate
  • Assist on other projects and tasks when assigned to do so by Manager
  • Assist in the maintenance of program documentation as directed by Sr. Analysts and Manager

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Alternate Sitting or Standing at Will. The ability to alternate between sitting and standing is present when a worker has the flexibility to choose between sitting or standing as needed when this need cannot be accommodated by scheduled breaks and/or lunch period.
  • Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard. Traditional Keyboard refers to a panel of keys used as the primary input device on a computer, typographic machine or 10-Key numeric keypad.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken or written word to impart oral and written information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken or written instructions to other workers accurately or quickly.
  • Employees are required to have close visual acuity at approximately 20 inches or less to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
