About the role...
This position will work under the direction of the Landscape Team Leader, Irrigation Specialist and / or Landscape Supervisor. All functions shall be performed in accordance with Landscape department and LEGOLAND Florida Resort policies, practices, and procedures. Tasks performed will include but are not be limited to mowing, edging, pruning, hedging, weed & pest control, minor irrigation repair and new landscaping projects. The Landscape Specialist will operate hand tools and power equipment in a safe, reliable manner. The Landscape Specialist shall be responsible for maintaining landscaped areas with emphasis on routine daily tasks.
What youll be doing...
- Performs prescribed maintenance procedures as directed such as, but not limited to : mowing, edging, pruning, hedging, raking, sweeping, weed and pest control.
- Completes assigned tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Uses assigned tools and power equipment in a safe and prescribed manner, avoiding misuse, breakage or loss.
- Keeps tools, machines, and all other company equipment in clean and proper working order.
- Reports broken or missing tools immediately to supervisor.
- Loads and unloads work vehicles.
- Applies granular chemicals and fertilizers after proper training and under the supervision of the Landscape Team Leader.
- When assigned for training / development purposes to a new or other Landscape Specialist, is attentive to safety of self, other employees, and the public.
- Maintains liaison with other maintenance employees and departments.
Who were looking for...
A minimum of three years of experience in the landscape field or a demonstrated level of expertise to fulfil the responsibilities of the role preferred. Knowledge of safe work habits and demonstrable good safety practices are essential. Advanced knowledge of horticultural practices and plant identification preferred. Advanced level of task specific know how to include use of essential tools and equipment and a basic foundation of proper irrigation techniques and repair options preferred. Requires the ability to observe and remember details and ability to understand and follow directions. Requires the ability to maintain a professional and service oriented demeanor. Will be required to interact with the public and employees.
Physical Demands :
Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.
Qualifications & Experience :
Education :
High school graduate or General Education Degree (or equivalent education and experience) is required.
Pay Range :
From USD $16.00 / Hr.
