Summary
Operates cardiac diagnostic equipment in order to provide a high–quality cardiac test which may include electrocardiograms (EKG), Holter monitor hook–ups and disconnects, Holter scan analysis and Stress Testing.
Job Duties
- Prepares patient for diagnostic test including patient meet and greet, explanation, skin prep with use of proper technique, and knowledge of cardiac anatomy and arrhythmias.
- Performs or assists in the performance of electrocardiograms (EKG's), Holter hook–up / disconnect, Holter scan analysis, and stress testing, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor hook up / disconnect, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor Analysis.
- Collects and reviews data during testing and monitors the patient's condition during the test. Identifies abnormalities during testing, focusing on areas of specific concern. Alerts other healthcare providers and / or physicians.
- Provides preliminary technical evaluation and transcribes all cardiology reports in a timely manner using correct terminology.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerts others regarding potential concerns.
