Sr. System Administrator

The Defense group at Leidos has a career opening for a System Administration Site Lead on a DISA contract. This role is primarily on the customer site at Ft. Meade, MD. The site lead will manage a team of 4-5 personnel providing support for assigned systems supporting Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS). PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly report to Tier II/III Program Management on all technical and personnel concerns Utilize senior Linux sys admin experience to maintain and sustain JWICS YLAN Network supporting DISA customers. Provide input on budget and resource assets. Assisting in hiring processes for multiple labor categories as required Provide effective technical leadership for a team managing and sustaining JWICS environment. Provide support for ticket escalation on major outages. Be able to work in a rapid paced environment at times. Provide strategic leadership and input with development partners to ensure customers understand emerging needs and technological advancements. Lead the onboarding and standup of new enclaves and environments as needed. Interacts with Tier III support and evaluates vendor products. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures. Application of security settings and other commercial best Provides coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree and/or 12 years of overall related experience with a Windows/Linux server environment. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree. Expertise in Linux Server administration. Extensive experience working with virtual environments using VMware and VDI practices Currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI is required for this position. Currently possess DoD 8570 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security ce. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Integration of cyber security tools and systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired. Candidates with a thorough knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP a plus.
