- Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
- Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience.
- Individuals interning in Environmental Sciences (ES&H), Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science and Management Information Systems.
- Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
- Assist in the preparation of project calculations.
- Assist in the production of design drawings.
Minimum Requirements
- Working towards Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a Structures Major (or equivalent education).
- College or university student with a minimum of 90 credits.
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications.
- Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
- Works independently and collaboratively with guidance and direction from others.
- US Citizen (dual citizenship is not allowed).
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
- Working towards Master of Science degree in structural engineering.
- Coursework in Reinforced Concrete and Steel Design.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards, including AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, and ACI 318
- Working knowledge of STAAD.Pro modeling, analysis, design, and post processing or similar software tools.
- Working knowledge and expertise in MathCad, Excel, and Word.
