A landscape estimator is often one of the first professionals on a job site as they work with design plans to create the list of all materials and item quantities required to bring the plan to life. These professionals are responsible for calculating the material costs of the job and creating estimates on the labor and equipment required to build the job. Like many other landscape professionals in this team-oriented industry, estimators usually work with other colleagues - including experienced installation managers and purchasing managers - to arrive at a final job cost to present to the client.

Responsibilities

The Landscape Designer/Estimator must be thoroughly familiar with designing and estimating all aspects of landscape instruction to include: site analysis, grading, drainage, plant selection and placement, hardscape (patios, walkways, decks, barbecues, gazebos, etc.) water features, lighting, etc.; and be able to manually design the same. The Landscape Designer must have excellent analytical as well as aesthetic skills, provide excellent internal service, and be able to do take-offs. The Landscape Designer will also interface with the company Client relations managers and team.

Skill Set and Educational Requirements

  • Preferred Minimum of two years of design experience in the Green industry
  • Able to conduct a thorough site analysis
  • Able to analyze drainage and grading requirements
  • Able to calculate related quantities for soil import/export, plants, mulch and labor requirements
  • Able to design and estimate quickly and efficiently
  • Able to translate designs into working drawings/documents for field personnel
  • Proficient in both oral and written communications
  • Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel and ability to learn additional software systems quickly
  • Able to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner
  • Requires minimal supervision
  • Able to make effective presentations when required
  • Able to deal with difficult and demanding clients in a professional manner
  • Working with an internal company team

Qualifications

At least 3 years of experience in the landscape industry.

Bilingual is a plus but not necessary.

Colorado Drivers License

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work until late if necessary, or occasionally a couple hours on weekends.

Good sales skills.

Preferably with 3 years of experience in sales.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,448.00 - $60,710.00 per year
