This position is responsible for overall building designs of pre-engineered post-frame buildings ensuring the unique requirements of our customers for residential, farm, livestock, equine, hobby and commercial purposes. The individual works closely with a cohesive team of resources from project sale through the construction phase. This is an onsite role in Lester Prairie, MN or Charleston, IL.

This position is responsible for overall building designs of pre-engineered post-frame buildings ensuring the unique requirements of our customers for residential, farm, livestock, equine, hobby and commercial purposes. The individual works closely with a cohesive team of resources from project sale through the construction phase. This is an onsite role in Lester Prairie, MN or Charleston, IL.
- Create building designs in accordance with industry standards, state and local building and zoning codes.
- Review and interpret customer specifications and sale agreements.
- Act as a resource for design and code concerns.
- Work directly with drafting technicians to produce certified construction drawings and accurate bill of materials.
- Provides product technical assistance internally and in the field.
- Performs custom quoting, pricing assistance and training to sales force.
- Stay current of new developments in the industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with structural emphasis is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of design experience is necessary.
- A Registered Professional Engineer is a plus or the ability to pass the Professional Exam when the eligibility requirements have been satisfied is required.
- Experience in wood design is preferred.
- Post-frame construction knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with finite element structural analysis and design software.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD is necessary.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills is required.
- Previous experience with an ERP system is a plus.
- Minimal travel is required.
