Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, the Business Development Manager (BDM) will identify, qualify, and develop new business. The BDM will also maintain and grow existing relationships with key distribution and manufacturing customers. The BDM will manage products, pricing, and strategic sales programs. This individual will manage customer requests, product change requests, and all other elements of these important business-to-business relationships. The BDM will also work cross functionally within the organization to provide input on product development priorities, business policies, and marketing strategy.
Work Relationships
This position will report to the Sales & Marketing Director and work closely with the technical services, sales support, engineering, operations, and finance functions to assure the highest level of service and customer satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions
- Identify, qualify, and acquire new distribution, and manufacturing customers
- Establish and maintain a positive relationship with potential and current clients leading to market share and sales growth
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans and marketing programs with current and new customers in order to promote relationship and maintain and grow market share, volume, and margin
- Provide extremely strong account management support to our top clients to assure ongoing relationships and facilitate the capture of new business as it becomes available
- Manage market and competitive product research and provide the organization with feedback and requirements from both the field and market analysis regarding products and services
- Manage pricing and develop recommendations that maintain and grow sales volume while maximizing margin and contribution to corporate financial objectives
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across the company to gain support for projects
8. Represent the company at industry events, tradeshows, conferences, and within industry organizations
Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience developing and managing business to business relationships. An ideal candidate would have experience working with Distributors, Manufacturers Representatives and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
- Experience building trusted relationships with and the maturity to manage these accounts both strategically and tactically
- Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate technical product concepts and requirements
- Flexibility to travel significantly
- Strong Oral and Written communication skills
- Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office, ERP/CRM operating systems)
- Highly Motivated Self-Starter with tireless enthusiasm
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
Salary : $80,021 - $100,026
