SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the hands-on care, repair, and optimization of our biogas facility’s mechanical and electrical infrastructure. Working under the direction of the Plant Manager and Assistant Plant Manager, you will ensure that the plant operates at peak efficiency with minimal downtime. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-performing facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on pumps, motors, mixers, and anaerobic digestion equipment to prevent equipment failure.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues promptly; execute repairs to restore production and minimize operational disruptions.
- System Monitoring: Assist in monitoring plant performance through SCADA systems, reporting anomalies to the Assistant Plant Manager.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and confined space entry protocols, to ensure a zero-injury workplace.
- Facility Upkeep: Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to maintain the physical integrity of the plant; assist with plumbing, welding, or electrical work as needed.
- Emergency Response: Participate in on-call rotations to address urgent equipment failures or environmental compliance issues outside of standard hours.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment history.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 2 years of mechanical or electrical maintenance experience (industrial, agricultural, or wastewater experience is a major plus).
Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical schematics.
Biogas Knowledge: Familiarity with anaerobic digestion, piping systems, and gas handling is preferred but not required.
Certifications: OSHA 10-hour certification required (OSHA 30 preferred); must be willing to undergo further safety training.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform labor in various weather conditions.
