Description
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage and Implement the Corporate HASP (Health & Safety Plan)
- Review and creation, as needed, for Site Specific HASP’s, Job Hazard/Safety Analysis
- HASP Review & Approval
- Committee Member of the State Certified Company Safety Committee
- Assist with mentoring and oversight of our Safety Liaison program.
- Perform Root Cause, Accident, Incident and Near Miss Investigations
- Conduct random Health & Safety field audits.
- Review Work Orders-Project Hazard Analysis for appropriate H&S controls
- Assist with the presentation of Health & Safety training programs; OSHA, DOT, Industry and Client Specific
- Conduct OSHA 40 hour and 8 hour refreshers as per CFR 1910.120 Training
- Conduct OSHA Confined Space Entry Training per CFR 1910. 146
- Assist in the management of 3rd party administrators including ISNET, Avetta, Veri force, Highwire, Reporting & Compliance Programs
- Aid in the management of Workers Compensation claims and investigations
- Confined Space Rescue Team training and equipment compliance and readiness
- Ensure the readiness of company owned health and safety equipment/PPE.
- Support the ALERT program with availability to respond to select spills/emergencies
- Steward the company’s behavior-based safety program
- Ability to be on call to respond to situations that require support from the Safety Department
- Available for On-call Health & Safety coverage during weekends and overnight hours
- Develop and oversee the company’s musculoskeletal program with emphasis on injury prevention and early intervention.
Expected Results:
- Constantly audit the state of the company’s safety culture
- Monitor accountability for all safety initiatives.
- Improve current safety criteria ranking scores such as EMR, TRIR etc.
- Promote safety incentives for all employees.
- Proactively engage with company clients to seek-out ways company can improve safety performance.
- Lead in the Company’s musculoskeletal injury prevention program
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Associates Degree in Health and/or Public Safety
· 2-3 Years of Health & Safety experience in the environmental or closely related field
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize.
· Ability to take initiative to solve problems.
· Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA requirements
· Strong knowledge of Health and Safety best practices in the Environmental Industry
· Strong focus on Safety, Quality, Accountability, and Integrity.
· 40 Hours OSHA and related Safety Training is a plus.
· Chemistry or Hazardous Materials Handling experience a plus
· Valid Driver’s License
Physical Requirements:
· Always requires near visual acuity, speaking and listening.
· Frequently requires sitting, standing, walking, grasping and reaching.
· Frequently requires walking on uneven ground while visiting job sites.
· May occasionally require lifting up to 40 lbs., pulling and/or pushing and carrying
· Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects
· Sitting for extended periods of time.
· Overnight stay and travel will be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, visiting project sites, etc.
· Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
· Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
