Position Summary
As a Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager, you will be the primary contact and advisor for a portfolio of mid-to-large commercial clients. You will manage day-to-day service needs, coordinate renewals and remarketing, and support producers in new business efforts. This is a high-responsibility, client-facing role suited for someone with deep knowledge of commercial insurance products and strong relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and service a book of complex commercial insurance accounts with minimal supervision
- Handle all aspects of account management including quoting, endorsements, certificates, audits, renewals, and billing inquiries
- Prepare renewal proposals, review coverage, and make recommendations to clients
- Develop strong relationships with clients, underwriters, and carriers
- Maintain accurate records in the agency management system (AMS)
- Collaborate with Producers and team members to deliver exceptional service
- Ensure compliance with agency, carrier, and regulatory standards
- Mentor junior account managers and provide technical support when needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in commercial lines account management, preferably in an independent agency setting
- Active Property & Casualty license required
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages including General Liability, Property, Auto, Workers Comp, Umbrella, and Professional Liability
- Proficient with AMS systems (bonus if you are experienced with AMS360!) and Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage high-volume workload independently and prioritize effectively
- CIC or CPCU designation (or progress toward) a plus
