Drone Operations Specialist Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Drone Operations Specialist to join our team to enhance our drone operations and support our ongoing projects. This role is crucial for optimizing data collection, site assessments, and inspections through the use of advanced drone technology. The position is remote but involves up to 40% travel to job sites, client locations, and company operations to ensure seamless drone integration across projects.

Drone Operations Specialist Duties and Responsibilities

• Construction Site Operations: Plan and execute drone operations for construction sites to support surveying, progress monitoring, inspections, and safety assessments.
• Data Capture and Analysis: Utilize drones to collect high-quality aerial data, process the data for site analysis, and deliver actionable insights to project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Compliance and Safety Management: Ensure all drone flights adhere to FAA Part 107 regulations, Lexicon safety standards, and industry best practices. Maintain up-to-date compliance documentation.
• Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Oversee and maintain drone hardware and software, troubleshoot issues, and ensure all equipment is fully operational for planned flights.
• Collaboration & Training: Work closely with project teams, site managers, and clients to demonstrate drone capabilities and benefits. Train internal staff on safe and effective drone use.
• Innovation in Construction Technology: Identify and propose new drone-based technologies, software, and strategies that drive construction project efficiency, cost reduction, and safety improvements.
• The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Drone Operations Specialist Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Drone Technology, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in drone operations, preferably within the construction or industrial sectors.
• Certification: FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification required.
• In-depth knowledge of drone platforms, aerial imaging technologies, photogrammetry, and data analysis software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on construction data application.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse teams and clients.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% to various job sites and locations.

Drone Operations Specialist Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GIS/mapping tools and CAD software for construction site applications.
• Background in data analytics or programming (e.g., Python, R) to enhance drone data insights.
• Prior experience in drone-based solutions for surveying, inspection, or progress monitoring within the construction industry.
