Global Commodity Manager / Strategic Sourcing Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Commodity Manager or Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead our procurement and supply chain strategy for high-value capital equipment (specifically inverters, medium voltage transformers, and battery containers). This role will focus on optimizing supplier relationships, managing contracts, generating RFP’s, and executing purchase orders to support our exceptional growth in grid scale battery energy storage integration.

Primary Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strategy :

Generate RFP’s and establish supplier selection processes to optimize total cost of ownership and supplier alignment with quality and performance standards.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive supply chain efficiency and cost savings.

Supplier Relationship Management :

Build and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and innovation.

Develop strategies to enhance supplier performance and reliability.

Contract Management :

Negotiate major contracts with strategic suppliers, securing favorable terms and conditions.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements related to procurement.

Purchase Order Execution :

Implement planning techniques to ensure timely delivery of capital equipment, meeting project deadlines.

Drive agenda for weekly meetings with strategic suppliers, to ensure all LG ESVT team’s are aligned for project execution with strategic suppliers.

Risk Management :

Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including supplier financial stability, supplier quality, and geopolitical concerns.

Proactively address potential supply chain disruptions, including maintaining cadence with alternative suppliers.

Qualifications

7 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on strategic sourcing and commodity management.

Strong product background in batteries, medium voltage transformers, inverters, or other relevant commodities for energy storage integration.

Proven expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and relationship building.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in supply chain management software and data analytics tools.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and developing high-performing teams.

Proven ability to develop and nurture strategic relationships within the renewables sector, complemented by a strong and extensive professional network.

Education Experience

B.S. in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MS / MBA preferred. Significant relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degrees.

20% (if local), 40% (if remote)

Reporting Structure :

This position reports to the Director of Supply Chain.
