RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Maintenance
- Conducts PMs and identifies issues before they arise.
- Must be proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, etc.)
- Operate extended forklift, manlift, or maintenance machinery to perform plant and quarry maintenance.
- Must be able to install and align all types of new equipment.
- Must be able to disassemble and rebuild all types of crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
- Must be able to complete belt tensioning alignment (Shaft/Belt).
- Must display competency in performing basic electrical work safely.
- Must be able to troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
Inventory
- Ensure all inventory parts are correctly charged from store
- Ensure all parts are available before starting job.
Safety
- Must be well versed on all aspects of safety.
- Comply with company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations at all times.
- Complete and document Workplace Inspections in a timely manner.
- Ensure maintenance tools are kept in good condition, repaired or replaced when necessary.
Training
- Upgrade skills by participating in vendor and company-designated training.
- Train on any new equipment installations.
ATTRIBUTES:
- Must display competency in performing basic electrical work safely.
- Must be able to troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
- Mobile/diesel knowledge proficiency
- Mechanical knowledge proficiency (bearing installation)
- Must be able to weld (certification)
- Certified Crane Operator Certification Preferred
- Must have welding experience.
- Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able perform basic mathematical computations
- Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field.
- Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes.
- Must have a telephone and be open to callouts
- Self-Motivated and must be able to work independently
- Good decision-making skills regarding safety
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as work orders, blueprints, mechanical drawings, safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry.
- Nobody is to leave without checking in with production.
- Nobody is to leave while work is going on in plant without permission from supervisor or manager. If not available you will stay until all work from department is done.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise, and dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
- Able to lift over 50 pounds.
- Workday or shift work and also be able to take call out as needed. Work as needed if there are issues with equipment in the plant after normal hours or weekends.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
PREFFERED EDUCATION:
- Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in industrial background preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years mechanical experience including welding, equipment alignments, equipment troubleshooting, reading of blueprints and mechanical drawings.
