Job Overview:
As a Monitor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment within the program. You will be responsible for monitoring program residents, enforcing rules and guidelines, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the overall well-being of individuals within the facility.
Duties:
- Maintain a safe and secure environment within the program.
- Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized access.
- Ensure compliance with program rules and guidelines by all residents.
- Respond to emergencies such as medical issues, conflicts, or disturbances promptly and contact appropriate authorities when necessary.
- Monitor behavior and interactions of program residents.
- Assist in conflict resolution and de-escalation when disputes arise.
- Enforce program rules and policies consistently and fairly.
- Address rule violations promptly and appropriately.
- Conduct regular bed area checks or inspections to ensure adherence to program guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of incidents and activities.
- Communicate important information to staff members, case managers, and supervisors effectively.
- Follow established emergency protocols to ensure resident safety.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of program facilities, overseeing cleaning routines in common areas and restrooms.
- Ability to navigate stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; QPP/QMHP certification preferred.
- One year of experience performing Security or Social Service work is preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience working with the homeless population is beneficial.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- CPR and First Aid Certification is a plus.
