Summary: The Youth Services Director is responsible for providing quality experiences and services for Liberty’s youth and their families.

The Youth Services Director is responsible for facilitating a safe and enjoyable environment for members and guests while exceeding Liberty’s standards of professionalism and teamwork. This role requires a strong leader who has excellent communication skills, can provide innovative and creative programming, and has a passion for developing and impacting children of all abilities. The focus of this position is to engage children and their families through healthy play and programming.

Essential Functions:

Create, Coordinate, and Manage Innovative Programming

  • Oversee and manage the Treehouse Activity Center (child care), Youth Camp Director, Lagoon Activity Center, and all team members hired for youth-specific programming and special events.
  • Coordinate birthday parties (club service) for members and guests, and oversee a team of ‘party hosts’.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and provide dynamic programming in the areas of youth fitness, recreation, and play.
  • Build and draw upon a team of youth-centric employees, utilizing and encouraging involvement from all areas/departments of the club
  • Initiate, direct, and promote youth programs and events to attract, encourage and maintain members’ interest in the club.
  • Monitor club traffic for peak participation and high family utilization. Plan activities to meet both needs, while also respecting the timeframes of existing programs. Plan new programs with an emphasis on global club schedule (allowing for proper staff support and oversight).
  • Ensure programming and policies are age-appropriate to specifically address various developmental stages of the desired population.
  • Provide evaluation materials to use as data for future improvements/changes.
  • Oversee and assist with registration efforts, promotion, and marketing of programs.

Lead and Manage Youth Operations Teams

  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding, and train new team members.
  • Facilitate any employee-related issues in the department with the support and guidance of Human Resources.
  • Enforce confidentiality with the team to create a unified team culture.
  • Oversee and periodically evaluate instruction in all youth areas pertaining to the role. Ensure quality instruction, responsive instructor support, and a safe, welcoming, and joyful environment.
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled department meetings (quarterly) with concrete agenda items.
  • Articulate and enforce a compelling vision around engaging with youth and their families. Train team members on appropriate procedures, policies, and language pertaining to all interactions with the desired population.
  • Assist with maintaining an environment of inclusivity in the club, facilitate staff training on working with youth with special needs.
  • Establish staff schedules and facilitate coverage in emergency situations.
  • Maintain clean surroundings in the club environment by offering specific cleaning checklists and time allocated to tasks. Work with the maintenance department to ensure that physical plant and resources are working properly.
  • Provide encouragement and feedback to team members via proper evaluation tools and procedures. Provide support through respectful communication and professionalism.

Caregiver and Instructor

  • Active role as a team member of the Treehouse Activity Center
  • Active, ongoing role as the instructor in new programs, as experience and skillset are warranted.

Company Culture and Leadership

  • Work alongside the club owners, managers, and staff to promote a healthy and positive working, social, and recreational environment for all employees and members.
  • Attend monthly management team meetings.
  • Work as a Manager on Duty, scheduled for a weekly shift(s).
  • Provide clear and effective leadership and a positive, highly visible engaging style while supporting Liberty’s core values, message, and vision.
  • Offer responsiveness and passion for customer service. Return all communication from members within 24 hours; listen to member feedback and address by implementing requests when possible.
  • Support new software changes and train team members to utilize technology.
  • Enforce all club rules and regulations governing the use of the facility, its equipment, and other property.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Recreational Management, or related field of study, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Two or more years of work experience is required in a related field working with k-12 youth.
  • Supervision experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $62,400.00 per year
