What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Processing Assistant position at LIBERTY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION?
Liberty FCU, a full-service credit union, is currently seeking internal and external applications for a Mortgage Loan Processing Assistant. The successful applicant must possess excellent member service and organizational skills. Candidates must be available to work Saturdays on a rotating basis. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Process mortgage loan files:
- Contact member within 24 hours of receiving the mortgage file to make an introduction and request supporting documents needed in addition to ensuring initial disclosures have been signed.
- Request and collect supporting documentation from member.
- Prepare letters of explanations for members.
- Complete income calculation worksheet.
- Assemble loan files in e-folder in order for submission to set-up.
- Request supporting documentation from third parties as needed including ordering tax transcripts as required for loan files and obtaining verification of deposit, mortgage, employment, rent, installment and revolving debt.
- Communicate with member regarding the status of their loan.
- Field and answer incoming mortgage calls.
- Update the loan origination system as verifications are received from the member and vendors.
- Clear member facing underwriting conditions imposed by underwriters.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all credit union mortgage products.
- Develop a working knowledge of the credit union’s data processing system, loan origination system, Word, and Excel software.
