Position Summary:
The Credentialing Specialist supports the onboarding, credentialing, and ongoing compliance of independent contractors providing interpretation and translation services. This role ensures all contractors meet client-specific credentialing requirements and that documentation is current and accurate. The Credentialing Specialist also assists with scheduling support, contractor outreach, and interdepartmental coordination to deliver a smooth and professional onboarding and contractor experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Credentialing & Onboarding

Coordinate the onboarding of new contractors and gather required documentation and credentials.

Conduct and process background checks and drug screenings for new contractors.

Ensure all contractor files are complete and in compliance with client and company requirements.

Maintain up-to-date credentials for existing contractors, tracking expirations and obtaining renewals.

Stay informed on credentialing requirements for each contract and client; update internal documentation accordingly.

Provide credentialing reports as requested by management or clients.

Complete employment verifications for contractors as needed.
Cross-Department Coordination
-
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Recruiting, Scheduling, QA) to ensure a seamless onboarding process.

Work with management to identify and implement process improvements in contractor onboarding and credentialing.
Contractor Communication & Support

Communicate with contractors regularly via phone, email, and text to provide updates on schedules, credentialing requirements, and policy changes.

Print and ship identification badges for new and existing contractors.

Conduct outreach to previous or inactive contractors to assess interest in reactivation.

Update contractor pay rates and ensure signed pay rate agreements are on file.
Scheduling & On-Call Responsibilities

Assist with intake and dispatching of scheduled interpretation requests as needed.

Participate in one remote on-call weekday shift per week and one on-call weekend per month to support urgent scheduling or credentialing needs.
Other Duties

Support other credentialing or operations projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

1–3 years of experience in credentialing, HR, compliance, or operations (experience with independent contractors preferred)

Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and file management systems

Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Experience in the language services or healthcare industry is a plus

Bilingual skills are a plus
Qualifications:

1–3 years of experience in credentialing, HR, compliance, or contractor onboarding (language services or healthcare preferred)

Job Requirements:
