Liberty Mutual Surety™ has an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner to support our Global Risk Distribution product and its capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of our collaborative and dynamic Surety Agile team to deliver key technology in direct alignment with business strategies. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for creating and providing user experience and distribution efficiencies that lead to continued premium growth and profitability, while further enhancing our position as a market leader for Surety products by building and leveraging agency platforms, portals and management system capabilities. You will help define and prioritize the product backlog for Surety’s Global Risk Distribution portfolio, including setting quality standards for delivery and representing the customer to the agile team. You will operate at the intersection of Business, Customer Driven Design, and Technology to deliver products that achieve business objectives and improve customer satisfaction as demonstrated by relevant KPI`s.

Product Owner Overview:
- Responsible for articulating and translating the product vision into feature(s) and tactics for a portion of Surety’s Global Risk Distribution portfolio. Communicate the product strategy effectively to key stakeholders and team members.
- Responsible and accountable for assigned feature level key performance indicators (KPI`s) and manages features or product(s) with a low to medium degree of KPI, scope, complexity, etc.
- Supports defining minimum viable product (MVP). Owns scrum team backlog (grooming, prioritization and refinement)
- Works day to day with the agile teams clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, constantly communicating and gaining alignment around feature or product strategy.
- Ensures delivery of scope, partners with delivery teams to ensure user stories are clear, removes barriers for team members and resolves open issues/questions quickly and efficiently. Acts as the `voice of the customer.
- Analyzes feasibility, cost ramifications, economies, or other aspects of planned or potential programs.
- Sets the quality standard for delivery. Develops test plans (user story acceptance criteria), accepts each story and potentially features and participates in team demos and retrospectives to validate quality, provide feedback to team and improve team processes. Partners across functions as needed to coordinate delivery plans, testing, training and support.
- Leads problem resolution as needed to ensure that internal and external customers receive prompt, efficient service.
- Communicates the feature or product strategy effectively to key stakeholders and team members. Incorporates stakeholder input into product roadmap while effectively negotiating tradeoffs of conflicting priorities based on value to the business and customer.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portion of Surety’s Global Risk Distribution portfolio, working with direct agile teams and/or in-country development teams.
- Oversee enhancements for Global Risks agency management needs.
- Lead the implementation of the agency segmentation structure in the agency management system and collaboration with marketing to support surety partners reward program
- Collaborate with surety’s Global Risk field operations to identify the go forward needs of surety’s CRM and building out the surety agency system to meet the needs of the field operation
- Contact and partner with the field organization and agencies to identify the needs of surety’s top premium producing agencies to ensure their needs are met with surety’s agency management resources and tools.
- Collaborate across other product owners in agency management portfolio as well as product owners across surety’s other product portfolios, information management (reporting) and surety leadership to ensure work is aligned with surety’s vision.
