PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Responsible for overseeing Galax Campus Security.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain ownership of overall security and safety of facility
- Fulfill duties of security guard in addition to supervisory responsibilities
- Manage security monitoring of all persons entering and leaving facility property.
- Ensure all contraband is prevented from entering the facility and any existing contraband is eliminated
- Act as liaison with local law enforcement
- Maintain accurate documentation of all security rounds, room searches, and other investigatory activities
- Ensure patient compliance with programmatic rules relative to safety and security of all patients and staff
- Ensure appropriate training to all security staff
- Ensure adequate security staffing at all times for the facility.
- Coordinate with facility leadership regarding security matters
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's or Master's degree in human services field preferred.
- Two or more years' experience working with the population of the facility required.
- One or more years’ supervisory experience preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Licensed counselor/therapist, as required by the state and for the area of clinical expertise. Valid driver's license if required by the facility.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility.
