What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Shift Direct Support Professional position at Life Connections LLC?
Responsibilities
– DSPs support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) by providing them with safe living environments, helping them with daily tasks, and teaching them life skills
– Assisting in meal preparation and follow menus
– Maintaining a sanitary environment
– Evaluating and documenting client progress
– Administering client medication treatments, per agency policy
– Attending to client medical needs as needed
– The Overnight Asleep Staff is allowed to sleep (between the hours of 10:00pm & 5:30am) in a designated area within the house
Qualifications
– No experience is required
– A sincere desire to work with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) is the most critical qualification
– Commitment to the concept of excellent quality of life for adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities
– Ability to communicate and work positively with adults with I/DD and their families, other community members and program staff
– Must be literate and capable of understanding written and verbal orders
– Must have the ability to stay calm in stressful situations and be able to respond in emergency situations at all times
– Must be 18 years or older
– Must consent to and pass a Federal Background Check and local DFS Check
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $100.00 per day
Expected hours: 12 – 40 per week
