What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Logistics Coordinator position at Life EMS Ambulance?
This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday 1000 - 1800. Pay is $26.74/hr.
SUMMARY:
Responsible for the deployment of all scheduled transfer planning, encompassing Inter-facility Ambulance, Mobility, Ambulatory, and Behavioral Health Transport (BHT) services. Collaborating closely with field supervisors, the Deputy Director of Ancillary Service Delivery, and Control Center Supervisors, this role is tasked to ensure an appropriate and efficient response, thereby delivering exceptional service that meets the diverse needs of our customers, patients and communities. This entails not only coordinating logistics but also maintaining a focus on quality and safety throughout the transfer process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIILTIES
- Ensure daily customer happiness.
- Oversee scheduling of all non-emergency ambulance requests and BHT requested within the next 72 hours ensuring system optimization.
- Allocate resources properly by appropriate decision-making rules and approved protocols/policies.
- Communicate with all requesting parties to understand transport needs and preferences, providing exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with other system status controllers, call takers, and field personnel to ensure smooth operations and adherence to protocols.
- Work closely with both radio positions and field supervisors to establish plans for transfer coordination and determine immediate availability.
- Responsible for knowledge and use of all pertinent and necessary equipment.
- Responsible for overseeing scheduling needs and volume demands and report any unusual circumstances or resource requirements immediately to the Control Center Supervisor and or the Director of the Control Center
- Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid Michigan drivers license and maintain a good driving record.
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must possess current BLS card.
- Accurate, basic typing skills and computer operation knowledge.
- Exceptional knowledge of all resources available, i.e. cross index, CAD, paging systems, phone systems, radio transmitter equipment.
- Exceptional knowledge of city streets and general service area geography.
- The ability to think and act quickly in stressful situations.
- Must be interviewed by Life EMS designee.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
