Location : Concord Reserve, 2116 Dover Center Road, Westlake, Ohio Shifts Available : Full Time - 11 : 00am -7 : 30pm What is Your Role?
Line Cooks are responsible for preparing a variety of hot and cold food items and will measure and prepare ingredients following recipes.
The Line Cook will be familiar with our recipes and quality standards to ensure our residents have an enjoyable dining experience.
Essential Functions include the following.
- Prepares food served using established production procedures and recipes.
- Determines amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems.
- Ensures availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation.
- Sets steam table and station; serves or ensures proper serving of food in dining room, nursing unit, salad bar and associate food line if applicable.
- Follows all HACCP protocols and complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards.
Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
- Stores food properly and safely, marking the date and item. Maintains storage areas.
- Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders. Preps food as necessary.
- Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.
- Keeps work area neat and clean at all times; cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation. Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor.
- Completes food temperature checks before service.

We are seeking :

- Knowledge of food service sanitation requirements and food safety.
Required Education and Experience
- Some High School.
- Some prior experience in a related food service position is required.
- Must be at least 18 years old, due to the Hazardous Occupations Order of the Dept of Labor.
- Must possess a customer service background and orientation.
- A minimum of 1-year related experience in a continuing care retirement community, hospital, hotel, restaurant, or similar facility as a Line Cook is preferred.
- Serv Safe Certification preferred.
