What are the responsibilities and job description for the Union Cemetery Maintenance Worker position at Life Remembered?
Under the Supervision of a Foreman, you will take on the important job of maintaining the overall appearance of our cemetery. This position is responsible for the care, maintenance and repairs of the property, as well as for the safety and security of the employees and visitors of the Park.
This position requires someone who can operate and service mechanical maintenance equipment (backhoe, tractor, Kubota, dumpcart, jackhammer, lawnmowers, etc.), with the ability to lift heavy objects up to 65 lbs., to read maps/diagrams and to work in various weather conditions.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performing all landscape maintenance duties, such as lawn mowing, weed whacking, debris cleanup, etc.
- Conducting interments.
- Installing memorials.
- Operating and maintaining equipment.
- Observing safety rules.
- All functions related to funeral services.
- Individual must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Full time - 40 hours per week. Occasionally, workload may require overtime and weekends.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the foreman.
Candidate:
- Must be at least 18 years old due to insurance regulations.
- Must be able to read, write and understand English.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Experience in operating a backhoe is helpful.
- Experience in driving a tractor is preferred.
- Must wear personal protective equipment.
Benefits:
- Starting rate is $17.00 per hour. Union Position. Full Union rate after one year.
