Summary
JOB SUMMARY:
- The Child Advocate has an important role at Center for Hope's Children's Advocacy Center (CAC), in providing assistance, support, and nurturance of children and youth visiting the center.
- This person will utilize a child-friendly, trauma-informed and trauma-responsive lens in their approach.
- The Child Advocate strives to provide an optimal environment to assist youth by promoting effective coping and healthy development through education, play, mindfulness practices, and therapeutic activities
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field
- Education equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field Early/Elementary Education, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, etc.; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field
- English/Spanish bilingual highly preferred
- Shift 9-5:30pm, but may include some 10:30am-7pm shifts as needed
- Experience in trauma work helpful
- Understanding of cultural humility and anti-racism framework
- 1 to 3 years of experience
