Day Program Coordinator / Program Specialist
Lifesteps, a local human services organization is currently seeking a full-time Day Program Coordinator / Program Specialist to work at our successful Transition Program in Evans City / Zelienople, PA.
The Coordinator role will help implement quality-driven, vocational training programs for young adults with special needs and assist clients to cultivate their individual strengths. Daily life skills are taught, and individuals are encouraged to participate in community activities. In addition, the Coordinator/Program Specialist will assist the Supervisor with client attendance, track client outings, and enrollment as well.
The Program Specialist part of the role is responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individual Support Plan (ISP) outcomes for the adult clients who have disabilities in the program. The position also creates and implements interactive lessons for clients, documents monthly and quarterly progress, and instructs direct care staff on the implementation of the plan.
The Coordinator/Program Specialist may be responsible for safely transporting clients on outings during program time using the company vehicle.
The hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. No Evenings, No weekends. No Holidays.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree with minimum of 4 years experience working with persons with disabilities, OR
- Bachelors Degree with minimum of 2 years experience working with persons with disabilities, OR
- Masters Degree with minimum of 1 year experience working with persons with disabilities
- Preferred majors are: Human Services, Special Education, Psychology, Secondary Education, Family Relations, Health Administration, Social Services, Counseling, or similar. However, any major would qualify.
- Valid Drivers License, Auto Insurance, and Ability to lift up to 200 lbs. with assistance required
- Ability to provide acceptable clearances required.
