Dairy Processing Operator II

Job Summary: The Dairy Processing Operator Level II works along with the Dairy Operators Level 1 and production employees to execute the delivery of the Kefir processing production.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Not Applicable for this position
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Must possess all skills and abilities of a Dairy Processing Operator Level 1
- Understand various pieces of dairy equipment
- Set up fermentation temperatures
- Check the chemical concentration according to charts
- Report/document any quality related deviations and blending processes to the appropriate personnel
- Clean outside the perimeters of processing equipment such as: milk receiving, batching, mix tanks and other processing equipment
- Confirm proper documentation on received and shipped tankers according to SOP’s.
- Responsible for the milk pasteurization process
- Weight the right cultures, follow the formulas, and culture the milk
- Train Level 1 and production employees
- Must be able to perform equipment tests with pasteurizing recorder
- Must be able to accurately operate the system, document, and report
- Provide daily tasks to Dairy Processing Operators Level 1 and production employees
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures
- Ability to participate in a team environment
- Ability to positively participate in a team environment
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in dairy industry/manufacturing is a plus
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, SQF is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and move 50lbs – 70lbs
- Ability to be on your feet for an 8-hour shift
- Ability to climb on ladders and maneuver through equipment
