LifeWay Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that joins the global movement against human trafficking by providing safe housing for women who have been trafficked, and offering education about trafficking to the general public. LifeWay Network (LWN) envisions a world in which human trafficking is abolished and every survivor is strong, connected, and free. LWN is one of only two organizations in the New York Metro area specifically providing safe housing for women survivors of human trafficking, and the only organization providing safe housing to survivors of labor, sex, and organ trafficking who are either foreign-born or domestic. What sets LWN’s Safe Housing Program apart is its community living model. It offers a safe home by welcoming each woman into a supportive, caring community of permanent residents. This host community helps her recover from her trauma, regain her sense of self-worth, and enables her to move from isolation towards reclaiming her independence.
The Director of Safe Housing leads the organization’s safe housing efforts for women survivors who have been trafficked. They report to the Executive Director. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Director works in collaboration with the Executive Director, Fundraising Manager, Director of Education & Advocacy, and Director of Finance & Technology and participates in the ongoing development of LifeWay Network programs and activities.
LifeWay Network Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director for our Safe Housing Program. The Director will oversee all aspects of the program, including program management, development, and evaluation. As the Director of Safe Housing, you will be responsible for ensuring the program continues to uphold the principles of trauma-informed care by providing a range of support, including counseling, in-house case management, economic empowerment, life-skills support, and advocacy to survivors of human trafficking.
Responsibilities:
Travel and work from our 2 Safe Houses, located in the Bronx and Queens
Provide leadership for the safe housing program, including program management, development, and evaluation
Develop and maintain program policies and procedures
Develop and deliver staff training on program policies and procedures
Help with hiring, supervision of staff, interns, and volunteers
Coordinate with partner organizations to offer comprehensive services to survivors
Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and organizations
Participate in grant writing and fundraising activities when needed
Maintain accurate program-related records and outcomes/measurements
Ensure program compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Qualifications:
MSW, bachelor's or master's degree in Social Services, Human Services, or Psychology preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of human trafficking issues and best practices in survivor services
Experience managing staff and volunteers
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a positive attitude
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information
Ability to travel to either Safe House on short notice when necessary
Current Driver's License and car is preferred
