Cost Accountant

Liggett Group LLC, a manufacturer of tobacco products, is currently seeking a Cost Accountant to join our team in Mebane, NC. The Cost Accountant is the link between finance and production functions to achieve production-related financial results. Must understand costs and processes as well as establishing and analyzing production costs and inventory valuation.

Our Cost Accountant will….

• Analyze all monthly inventories.
• Analyze and explain manufacturing variances.
• Reconcile inventory control subsystems to the General Ledger.
• Compile data for operational and financial reporting.
• Add new items to the inventory master file as needed.
• Modify bill of materials as needed.
• Close the inventory system each month.
• Assist in the annual budgeting process and establish product standard costs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance regarding product excise taxes.
• Reconcile daily inventory movement.
• Prepare and submit excise tax returns.
• Maintain good relations with federal representatives of TTB.
• Assist in TTB audits as needed.
• Provide information on pending tax payments for cash forecasting.
  
  

We are looking for….

• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to details.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Self-starter with experience in ERP applications in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Oracle EBS and SAP is a plus.
• Minimum two-three years’ cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing a plus.
• CMA preferred.
