What We Are Looking For
- A Project Controls Specialist to provide Project Managers & Field Leadership with quantified productivity goals, actual productivity updates, and information on the financial performance of projects.
- Effectively utilize accounting software job, phase and cost codes, and cost classes to:
- Create a clear Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Facilitate tracking of estimated vs. actual productivity
- Ensure estimated cost change orders are properly entered into accounting software
- Collaborate with project teams to maintain accurate project budgets
- Utilize quantity tracking/hour tracking to analyze productivity variances and trends
- Enhance management’s utilization of accounting job activity reporting by utilizing job labels
- Perform production walks on jobsites to:
- Understand productivity trends and educate workers on those trends
- Request feedback for improvements in productivity, reporting findings to management
- Assist project leadership in understanding the WBS, ensuring project needs are met
- Assist in billing preparation
- A team player with:
- Knowledge of Job Cost Accounting
- Accounting software experience (Foundation preferred)
- Ability to quickly learn new software
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to proactively complete tasks in a timely manner
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Solid computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- A general understanding of building construction and electrical construction process preferred
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Information Systems – or – 2 years of related work experience
