Job Purpose:
The Field Specialist will play a vital role in overseeing, auditing, and assisting in the documentation of work activities. This includes managing SAP data entry, preparing schedules, tracking defects, coordinating vendor activities, and ensuring timely material availability for repairs. The ideal candidate will work closely with vendors, railroad personnel, and site managers to ensure efficient and accurate operations.

As a Field Specialist, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

- Oversee, audit, and assist in documenting all work, including SAP data entry and any necessary spreadsheets.
- Prepare schedules for acceptance or FMIs as needed.
- Track defects and prepare field reports.
- Monitor vendors for accuracy and completion of work and documentation.
- Coordinate vendor activity to ensure expedited completion of work.
- Meet with vendors and railroad personnel to coordinate car availability.
- Assist in reviewing material requirements using SAP to ensure availability for repairs, FMIs, or tests.
- Help coordinate material movements to and from Kawasaki and/or vendors.
- Expedite shipping and return of material from vendors after repairs.
- Process defective parts back to plants or suppliers.
- Monitor serial number activities on all components.
- Assist the Acceptance and Warranty supervisors with vendor support and material information.
- Audit tooling and material requirements to meet schedule commitments.
- Issue purchase requests to appropriate management personnel.
- Attend meetings such as FRB and customer meetings.
- Oversee and coordinate small field teams as needed.
- Process letters to suppliers as required.
- Manage customer invoices relating to field work and monitor them in Excel.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Site Manager or Senior Person on site.

- An Associate’s degree in a technical field, quality, business administration, or engineering.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication, computer, and report generation skills, with a high proficiency in Excel.
- Good written and verbal skills in English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Professional and confident when interacting with customer representatives.
