Lilienthal Gallery is seeking an intern for approximately 12-18 hours a week with a flexible schedule suiting the needs of the student and working gallery shifts every other weekend.
Location: 23 Emory Place, Knoxville, TN
Duration: November 2024-April 2025 (flexible)
Hours: Part-time internship with 12-18 hours per week
Compensation: $10/hour and college credit
Lilienthal Gallery is an art space showcasing contemporary international, national, and select local artists. We strive to contribute to the elevation of the local art scene by giving artists and the community an opportunity to interact and be involved.
The gallery offers a tasting of the global palette including large-scale sculptural installations, abstract paintings, photorealistic works, and ink works on paper. With artists from China, Germany, Israel, Brazil, Azerbaijan, and beyond Lilienthal Gallery exhibitions evoke the spirit of rich cultural exchange.
We collaborate with local arts and culture organizations throughout the region to grow the Knoxville arts community.
The gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday, 12-6 pm, for First Friday extra hours 5-8 pm, and occasional special events. We also are currently maintaining the open hours for KnoxWalls Mural Alley, located behind Lilienthal.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the gallery, staffing gallery for every other weekend
- Support the preparation and installation of exhibitions.
- Engage with visitors and provide information about exhibited artworks.
- Assist in organizing and staffing gallery events and openings
- Handle administrative tasks, including inventory management and record-keeping.
- Contribute to social media content creation and promotion
QUALIFICATIONS

- Graphic Design
- Marketing
- Proficient in Google Suite, Adobe (Photoshop and Illustrator), and Canva
- Basic art history knowledge and interest in the arts
