Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Immigration Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of immigration law and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills. This role is essential in supporting attorneys with various immigration-related cases, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and submitted in a timely manner. The Immigration Paralegal will also assist with legal research and maintain effective communication with clients.
Duties
- Prepare and file immigration applications and petitions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Transcribe legal documents, correspondence, and other materials as needed.
- Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines for submissions.
- Communicate effectively with clients via phone and email, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Assist attorneys in case management by tracking progress and updating clients on their case status.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow within the office.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in immigration law or related fields.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Familiarity with legal case management software is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of various areas of law including family law, personal injury law, environmental law, and securities law is desirable.
- Attention to detail is critical for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
