What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, HCS - PHC position at Lincare?
This Supervisor provides and evaluates the effectiveness of respiratory care, coordinates respiratory services, and performs respiratory care services in accordance with the physician's orders.
- Responsible for delivery, set-up, education, assessment, monitoring, treatment administration, and care as related to the individualized plan of care
- Plans, directs, and coordinates the daily activities of RCPs
- Completes field supervisory visits, assesses staff competency, and reviews required documentation
- Participates in Center staff meetings, orientation, in-service education, interdisciplinary case conferences, and other meetings as requested
- Makes appropriate inter-agency and/or community referrals
- Communicates patient concerns appropriately with health care team and physicians
- Takes initiative to present ideas and/or suggestions to management
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Coordinates admissions with intake and makes appropriate assignments
- Ensures that work meets quality standards by keeping clinically current through participation in in-service programs, professional activities, and seminars
- Mentors, directs, and evaluates staff
- provides verbal and written coaching and counseling to staff as indicated
- Participates in interviewing and hiring of Respiratory Care Practitioners
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory agencies
- Completes field supervisory visits for staff
- Collects, analyzes, and aggregates daily activities for monthly reports
- Ensures implementation and compliance of administrative and clinical policies and procedures
- Manages team of employees

- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Education/Experience:
- Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory program
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Credentials with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
- Certified Respiratory Technician (CRT) accepted
- Must have current state professional license
- minimum of 3 years experience in respiratory care is required
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
- Experience with home medical equipment is highly desired
- Current CPR certification and attainment of company direct patient care health requirements is required before interacting with patients
- should have knowledge of Word Processing software
