Secondary Math Teacher, Full Time
Overview:
Lincoln Academy is looking for a certified secondary math teacher to provide math instruction in the junior high school setting. This position reports directly to the Secondary Principal. Compensation is commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience starting at $52,800.
Specific Duties Include:
- Instructing 7th grade and 8th grade math using USBE Core Standards
- Managing math lab periods for levels 8 and 9 math
- Use flexible grouping to implement Tier 2 Intervention Strategies in the classroom
- Work cooperatively with department to create common formative assessments
- Maintain curriculum delivery through CANVAS platform
- Manage student data through school selected SIS
- Ability to use and instruct through various technology platforms
- Record and report student achievement progress and data to students and parents on a routine and regular basis
- Attend twice yearly parent teacher conferences
- Attend and work collaboratively with math PLC
- Host a daily homeroom class
- Participate in standards-based grading model
- Implement and report progress on all IEP, 504, and RTI plans as written
- Maintain clear and consistent classroom management processes
- Enforce all school adopted policies and procedures
- Maintain active state licensure
- Actively participate in committee assignments
- Cooperatively integrate TA into classroom structure
- Maintain active communication with parents
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Ability to teach to a Level 3 math competency
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Ability to write and monitor IEP math goals
- Ability to differentiate instruction for differing ability levels
- Integrity in keeping confidentiality regarding student data and information
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Utah Level 3 Math Certification preferred) or be within 1 year of receiving bachelor’s degree
- Having passed the Utah Middle Grades Math Praxis or other Math Praxis or ability to do so within one year
- Experience working with teenagers
- Practice teaching in secondary grades (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work with students in physical settings
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
Salary: $52,800 (starting) increasing levels depending on certification and experience
