JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Kazoo’s U-STOP Café Associate
Classification: Variable Part Time

**Availablity needed between 10:00am-4:45pm Friday/Saturday/Sunday.
Additional hours may be available for private events at the Museum from 5:00pm-9:00pm throughout the week and on weekends.

Job Overview
Team members in our quick-service cafe support the mission of the Lincoln Children's Museum by attending to the needs of children and adults. This position requires taking orders at the counter, preparing food, stocking beverage coolers, cleaning and following all food safety guidelines. Communicates effectively with administrative staff, other associates, volunteers and Museum patrons.

III. Essential Functions
A. Available and willing to work evenings, special events, holidays, weekends/school holiday breaks and other shifts as needed, as well as special cleaning days

B. Greet and welcome all guests that visit the Café
C. Work in the kitchen area preparing food
D. Work at the front counter helping customers through the ordering process
E. Ability to open and close cash drawers successfully without error, know what to do if the drawers are not even at the end of the day
F. Ability to problem solve and answer basic questions as they arise without having to default to the manager.
G. Maintain overall cleanliness and uphold food safety rules. Follow the daily cleaning schedule and maintain special storage areas.
H. Read updates and be able to implement any changes within the Café.
I. Punctual and dependable. Ability to follow instruction from manager, and complete tasks in a timely, efficient manner as assigned.
J. Maintain a positive ongoing relationship with peers.
K. Support other departments as necessary
L. Know how to find the price of each item, where extra items are stored and how to check inventory, be familiar with the stocking of merchandise and where products are located so they can be restocked.
M. Attend all relevant staff meetings.
N. Support other departments with other duties as assigned.

IV. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
Active work-lifting and/or carrying up to but not to exceed 50 pounds occasionally, lifting and/or carrying up to 20 pounds frequently. Work also includes climbing, crouching, crawling, walking, kneeling, and standing for long periods of time.

Primarily indoor work – may occasionally be exposed to some outdoor elements and/or hazards

V. Qualifications
A minimum education level of high school diploma preferred. Customer service within the food service industry experience preferred. Must be organized, dependable, flexible and reliable.

Self-motivated and willing to take on multiple tasks at any given time. Ability to handle critical and emergency situations calmly and effectively. Must be outgoing and have friendly personality.

Ability to work with children, adults, staff and volunteers of all ages.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
