Responsibilities:
- Lead daily accounting functions including accounts payable and general accounting team
- Responsible for the integrity of the month end closing cycle procedures.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and financial reporting on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Responsible for full set of balance sheet accounts reconciliation for month end
- Develop an internal controls mindset across the organization including process flows, control matrices and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with the development of a self-audit program to ensure adherence to proper internal controls, segregation of duties and the safeguarding of company assets.
- Identification and implementation of process improvement opportunities throughout the Controllership function. (i.e., chart of accounts, consolidation software)
- Build, develop and oversee a well-organized team which consistently delivers functional and organizational goals.
- Audit preparation and interact with auditors
- Bank and account reconciliations
- Spreadsheets and analytics
- Financial Reporting, Budgeting and Board/Management Reports
- Recommend/Implement/Improve standard accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee and coordinate all financial activities and personnel
- Set controls and budgets to mitigate risk and increase return on investments
- Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques
- Conduct internal audits to assess financial status
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors
- Supervising 2 accounting staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance - CPA a plus
- 8 years’ experience in Accounting with at least 3 years in accounting management
- Results oriented with a proven ability to get the job done.
- Effective at managing time, projects, deadlines, and budgets
- Established record of integrity and commitment to compliance, quality, and customer service.
- Ability to initiate and lead change.
- Strong process management orientation and experience in evaluating process and implementing changes to improve efficiency/effectiveness/ cost management, etc.
- Ability to generate innovative approaches and new or improved solutions to business issues.
- Excellent conflict management and collaborative management skills.
- Ability to grasp, learn and communicate complex concepts quickly and independently.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing staff at all levels.

- Prior staff management experience

- Experience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks
