JOB SUMMARY
3rd Shift Final Inspector
10:00PM-6:00AM
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential job functions are duties that are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. The term does not include functions that are performed on an occasional basis, performed by some but not all persons in the position or that are only of marginal importance. Essential job functions for this position are as follows, with other duties being assigned as necessary.
· 100% inspection for visual defects by following work instructions and training.
· Communicate with Press Operator to provide feedback for defects.
· Packages parts correctly according to LML documentation.
· Completes daily paperwork in timely and accurate manner.
· Ensures that the work area is free of safety issues.
· Notifies Supervisor and quality immediately of any NG parts.
· Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion.
· Help re-work, sort, and rerun parts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Diploma or GED; six months of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to use applicable gauges; Must know and understand quality checks.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, and memos.
- H.S. Mathematics aptitude with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to associates in the work area and with the supervisor.
- Must be capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Must be a team player and work cooperatively with all personnel.
- Ability to reason and select the best course of action for areas within the assigned level of responsibility.
- Ability to find tiny defects within cycle time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee may be required to stand for a minimum of 10 hours at a time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job on the plant operating floor, the employee is occasionally exposed to oil, sharp metal edges, moving mechanical parts, vibration, very loud noise, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles. While performing job duties in the office environment the noise level and exposures in the work environment are of the typical nature found in that setting.
