Cheer Coach

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cheer Coach to lead our high school cheer team . The ideal candidate will have experience in cheer techniques and a commitment to fostering a positive and encouraging environment at the high school level. This role would begin in mid August with try outs and practices (several times per week) and perform during Football games throughout the Fall season. The winter season is focused on competitive Cheer. This is a part time seasonal role, expected to dedicate approx 15 hours per week, with flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Cheer team members are prepared for game performances.
• Conduct regular practice sessions, ensuring that all participants are engaged and motivated and learning increasing skills.
• Ensure and monitor the safety of all team members during practice sessions and competitions.
• Communicate effectively with team parents/guardians.
• Work with the LPHS Athletic Dept to ensure athlete compliance.
• Engage proactively with other coaches at the school.

Experience

• Previous experience in teaching physical education or sports coaching is preferred.
• Previous experience with some cheer coaching, ideally at the high school level, with both sideline and competitive cheer.
• A passion for the sport of Cheer.
• Ability to attend regular practices and games.

Lincoln Park High School is a Chicago Public School, located in the heart of Lincoln Park with overall student enrollment of ~2,200 students of very diverse backgrounds. LPHS offers over 35 sports across 3 seasons and is highly committed to athletic excellence. Coaches are an integral part of the LPHS community.

Pay: $1,000.00 - $2,000.00 per month
